Planning a family session in the middle of winter in Vancouver can be a challenge. This season our weather was unpredictable, the weather networks rarely ever got it right. This shoot was extra special because the forecast called for pouring rain. Instead we got soft sunlight amongst the redwood trees of Redwood Park in Surrey, BC. Despite the chill in the air and the threat of rain we braved it together & this family mini session turned out so sweet.
The summer is long over and only the memories and the photographs remain. It's now January and I haven't blogged one of my weddings or shoots from last summer! Better late than never, I am going to post all of my adventures anyways! I am going to start with one of the most enchanting weddings I have ever experienced. It was the marriage of Michelle & Dan in the Redwood Forest in Surrey, BC. #Meetusintheforest was a true invitation to a special ceremony that was enclosed by large trees that protected all who were present from the light summer rain. The two incorporated personal touches such as stories from their travels and favourite song lyrics in their vows. It was intimate, romantic and I am so happy that I was included to capture it. Congrats Michelle & Dan, your day was truly amazing (and happy-almost-6-month-anniversary)!
This day marked an incredible milestone for this little cupcake Elodie. Many friends and family gathered around to see her eat cake for the first time and celebrate her 1st birthday. Lets just say she crawled around at turbo speed for the remainder of the party. Cake & cupcakes by Cakes In A Box.
The last time I met up with this lovely family was for Braedon's 2nd birthday. This time was to welcome their second tiny son Declan to the family & to capture Braedon's excitement having a new brother.
By the time I post this blog, this little guy will have doubled in size and likely will have tripled in cuteness. Here are my best shots from my photo shoot with Chase and his amazing new parents James and Sarah.
Last month I had the privilege of spending the afternoon with local designer Olivia Hayward and model for the day Graham Douglas to shoot part of her new line RUKSTIN. "The Fall/Winter collection is for the man who craves a spontaneous adventure. The collection is designed for the man who lives an active life in the city, as well as the great outdoors..." Watch out for more from Olivia and RUKSTIN, I am certain she will be the next big name in fashion on the west coast.
